It is a long time since I wrote a post like this. However, I am thrilled to announce that I am back presenting at the VMware User Group conferences again this autumn. In October, I have been invited to speak at no fewer than four VMUG meetings around Europe. Without further ado, this is where you can hear me talk about some of our recent VMware Explore 2022 announcements regarding vSphere 8.0 and vSAN 8.0, vSphere+ and vSAN+, as well as Kubernetes on vSphere, and my thoughts around the vSphere Administrators journey towards managing Kubernetes platforms.
I am delighted to have been invited back to speak with our French customers at the France UserCon. This is taking place on October 6th, at the Étoile Business Center in Paris. In this presentation, I will be focusing on running Kubernetes on vSphere, and what that means for a vSphere Administrator. I will also be using this session to highlight some of the new Kubernetes features that are included in vSphere 8.0 with Tanzu. Details are available at the 2022 France VMUG UserCon page.
I have also been asked to participate in the Italian UserCon. It takes place on October 12th, Meliá Milano in Milan. I guess it has been 4 years or more since I presented in-person at this event. Once again, I am focusing on Tanzu / vSphere related content, and sharing many of our new features recently announced at VMware Explore 2022 in the afternoon keynote. More details and registration are available at the 2022 Italy VMUG UserCon page. [Update] I had to cancel this appearance due to contracting COVID-19.
Next up is the VMUG in Romania. I had a great time in Bucharest on my previous trip 3 years ago, so it is very nice to be going back once again. This event is scheduled for October 18th and takes place at Romexpo (Pavilion C4-C5) in București. This keynote I will focus mainly on Kubernetes for vSphere Administrators. You can sign up for VMUG Romania Full Speed here, and get more details about the event here. [Update] I also had to cancel this in-person appearance due to contracting COVID-19, but I did present virtually over zoom.
My final VMUG event in October is a trip to Zurich to present at the Swiss German VMUG meeting. This will take place on October 27th. This will be by first time presenting to the Swiss German VMUG members, and I am very much looking forward to it. This will be mostly a recap on VMware Explore 2022, where I highlight many of the core vSphere and vSAN updates which were announced at the event, although we may also delve into Kubernetes on vSphere as well. You can find our more details about the event at the Swiss German VMUG site.
So yes, a busy month for me. But it is nice to see some sense of normality returning to the world, and it will be very nice to meet up with old VMUG friends and meet some new ones.
