Catch me at a VMUG in early 2018

Well, I’m delighted to have been invited to present at quite a few VMUGs recently, so I thought I’d share the details of them with you here. I’ve been working on my presentation which is called “What is happening in the world of VMware Storage?”. In fact, there is a lot going on, not just in the world of vSAN and VVols, but also in core storage as well as in cloud native storage. So in my 1 hour slot, I’ll be trying to update you on all of this goodness. No easy task, but I’m always up for a challenge! OK, so where have I been invited to go. Read on to find out.

Well, needless to say, I am thrilled about this one. Our friends down in ‘Oz’ have asked me to come along and speak at both of their March VMUG UserCons. The first event takes place in Sydney on March 20th at the Westin Hotel Sydney which is in Martin Place. Registration for the Sydney VMUG UserCon is here. Then I’ll be heading to Melbourne for their UserCon, which takes place on Thursday, March 22nd at the Crown Promenade. Registration for the Melbourne VMUG UserCon is here. This will be my first time ‘down under’ and I’m really looking forward to it. By the way, if you’d like to talk about any of the above storage related topics on a 1:1 basis, please reach out as I do have some cycles during this trip to talk to VMware customers.

I’m delighted to have been invited back to speak at the forthcoming Scotland VMUG. This takes place in Glasgow on April 26th. This year it is in the University of Strathclyde Technology & Innovation Centre. I was trying to think how long ago it has been since I presented at the Scottish VMUG, and I’m guessing that it must be almost 3 years (2015). So it will be good to share many of the enhancements (and there have been a lot) in the VMware storage space since I last spoke there. Registration for the Scottish VMUG can be found here.

I’m also excited to say that I have been asked to speak at the Czech Republic VMUG meeting in Prague on May 24th. This meeting takes place at Greenpoint. This will also be the first time that I get to speak at this particular VMUG. A number of other members of my team have presented at this VMUG before, I’ve been told (warned!) about their wonderful hospitality. I’ve communicated with many of the VMUG members in this area, but now I will get a chance to meet them face to face. It should be a blast! Registration for the Czech Republic VMUG in Prague can be found here.

One final note, but this is not a VMUG related event. As I am passing through on my way to the Australian VMUGs, I was asked by our local team in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) if I could spend a few days there to meet some customers. This is excellent, as it breaks up the really long journey, and on my last visit 2 years ago I had some great conversations with many of our Abu Dhabi and Dubai customers. So if you are a VMware customer based in the UAE and are interested in catching up on what’s happening in the world of VMware storage, reach out to your local VMware team and see if they can work this into the schedule. I’ll be there on March 14th and 15th.

See you all soon!
