YANRBP – Yet Another New Role Blog Post

First off, I’d like to wish everyone a very happy 2014.

I’m starting off 2014 with a new role within VMware. After almost 3 years with the VMware Technical Marketing team, I’ve decided to take up a new challenge. As of January 1st, 2014, I am now a Senior Storage Architect in the Integration Engineering team which is part of VMware R&D. This team is also known as Customer[0].

The new Integration Engineering Storage Architect role allows me to works directly with customers/partner organizations, our field staff and R&D to incubate and field enable the next generation of VMware storage solutions and services. The role includes being the field partner for R&D to work closely with early adopter clients of advanced architectures and services. Finally, this roles gives me the opportunity to get back to documenting architectural best practices in deploying new VMware solutions.

I’m very excited about this new role. It also allows me to continue the blogging and community involvement. As an aside, since moving out of marketing, I have taken a new twitter handle @CormacJHogan. However my tweets will continue to be storage and virtualization orientated.
